New: Ideas for texts you could write | Save This Page

As somebody who learns a foreign language, you should use this language as often as possible, otherwise you will never develop fluency. However, if there is no interesting local native language speaker of the language you are learning, you will probably find it difficult to keep using the language. It's also dangerous to just speak or write the language to oneself, because then you risk repeating the same mistakes over and over again until they are ingrained.

Native speaker feedback is critical for recognizing mistakes before they become ingrained, for continually improving your language level and for keeping up your motivation. Yet, even if you know some, native speakers may not be ready to correct you as often as necessary, because they may be uncomfortable doing so, they may find it tedious or they may not want to interrupt the flow of conversation.

Hence, you need a place where people are dedicated to helping you to improve your knowledge of their language. This is it. After a very quick registration process, you can post any foreign-language texts you have written here and you will get free* corrections, comments and encouragement from native speakers, no questions asked. Then, give back by correcting others that struggle with your native language. As the name suggests, nobody is perfect, so don't be shy!

* free: assuming you don't exploit the site and correct others approximately as often as you have them correct you. Remember this is an exchange.
